The color black is everything. It is classic, edgy, formal, informal, etc. You cannot go wrong wearing it. These days, I’m really into monochromatic looks. While slimming, black on black looks cool without trying too hard. Taking inspiration from the Vera Wang fall 2015 ready-to-wear show, I put together an all-black outfit that is sporty and sleek. The show displays a collection of black ensembles paired with white lug sole black leather boots.
Though this look may be hot for the summer, it is great for festivals that are hot in the day and cooler at night. It is also great for days spent walking around while travelling. Gym shoes make a huge difference. When I was in Europe, girls would wear them when going out for a night, pairing them with dresses and other dressier items.
My outfit includes a black, cropped top, black, mid-waisted skinny jeans and black Nike Free gym shoes. I paired it with black sunglasses and a black backpack, and I tied a blue denim button-down shirt around my waist. This is an easy way to accessorize an outfit without buying anything new.
This look can be translated into fall by switching out jeans for silk, baggy trousers that are tapered at the ankle or high-waisted leggings, and gym shoes for black leather booties. Add a long black blazer over a cropped top for a more visually interesting look. An outfit like this would look good for a night out on the town. To take the look to work, opt for a v-neck blouse.
