Fall is my favorite season mainly because of two reasons: the way New York looks and feels in this lovely, crisp weather. The other reason is because of the long-awaited return of wearing leather without dying of heat. Now if you know me, you know that leather is my one true love. I almost never leave my apartment without my favorite leather jacket on. My outfit isn’t complete without a leather jacket. In the rare occasion when I actually do choose to go with a different jacket, you can almost always bet that I’m wearing something else that’s leather.
Now to continue with my rant about my personal fashion and style preferences, one of my favorite designer brands when it comes to edgy and completely out-of-the-box fashion, is Alexander McQueen. King of glam, femme fatale vibes, leather, lace and undeniably the color black, Alexander McQueen built a legacy that still very much dominates the fashion world and is a favorite to all Fashionistas and Fashionistos out there. The brand’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was the epitome of stunning. All the beautiful pieces absolutely blew my mind and managed to make the collection one of my all-time favorite runway shows. The array of leather pieces combined with other very feminine and classy ones, gave me multiple ideas as to how I can mix and match different styles, opened my eyes to the various ways that leather can both dress up and dress down a look and lastly, only augmented my love for this material even more. But I mean, how could you possibly go wrong with Alexander McQueen and anything leather in the first place?
For this look, I decided to keep things casual and effortlessly classy with a minimalist touch. I wore a simple gray crop top and paired it with my favorite black Zara culottes that I’m absolutely obsessed with. Since I live in New York—and living in New York means that there’s always a lot of walking involved in everything you do—I wore a pair of black snake-print slip-on sneakers that are the definition of comfy and cool and decided to grab my purple classic Balenciaga purse for an extra pop of color. As for accessories, I kept it simple by wearing a pair of black cat-eye sunglasses and a few silver rings. To complete the look and make it as Paula as it could possibly get, I threw on my favorite leather jacket that only made the outfit more edgy and glam. There you have it.
Leather pieces are a must in everyone’s closet. Their versatility, comfort and timelessness makes them the perfect pieces to invest in and shamelessly drool over. If you’re not already a lover and a fan of leather, come join the club. I promise you won’t regret it.
