An outfit can always be enhanced with the appropriate accessories. Accessories give an outfit character and totally embellish a look. My favorite accessories are commonly found in antique shops or in the chest full of my great grandmothers’ things! Vintage accessories styled with modern pieces that have classic silhouettes produce my favorite kind of look.
This Madewell jumpsuit is such a bold yet simple canvas to work with. It reminded me of the Filippa K spring 2016 collection with its refined silhouette and subtle color scheme. The fit of the jumpsuit is very flattering and the higher waist gives the illusion of longer legs. Also, the three-quarter length sleeves and the medium thick yet breathable fabric make it a piece that can be worn in all seasons.
The air was crisp and the wind was alive so I knew that I would need a bit protection from it. I went through some of my great grandmother’s things in search of the perfect earrings and found a stash of neck scarves. It was a sign; I needed to wear one. I gently shuffled through them and found one with orange, my favorite color! It was clad with petite butterflies so I had no choice but to choose it. The scarf became the statement piece of this look for sure. I also accessorized with a gold cuff bracelet and some vintage gold and iridescent-gemmed earrings.
I decided to dress the jumpsuit down a bit by finishing off with a pair of brown leather ankle boots. To dress it up instead, you could wear these spunky suede ankle boots. A natural makeup look with minimal shimmer and drama is what I would recommend to also stay more casual. A nude or muted pink lip would add a feminine essence to an otherwise plain makeup look!
Get My Look: 1. Structured jumpsuit. 2. Neck scarf. 3. Leather ankle boots.
