Dries Van Noten, in my opinion, stole the show with their back-to-the-roots fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. This show was all about going to back the basics. Returning to a more natural and simplistic states, the clothes drew inspiration from nature. Neutral color palettes and textures that played off objects with the same outdoorsy feel were used. For added effect, which I though was very unique, the stage was decorated with moss and there was no music playing during the show. Instead, they used the sounds of birds chirping as background music. I love the outdoors, and this collection really spoke to me. It really touched on the fact that our generation gets lost in the technology of this world and sometimes forget that real beauty is found in nature.
Pulling from this inspiration, I created a great outfit that I cannot wait to try out when the weather gets a bit nicer. What stood out to me the most in this collection, and what I based my outfit off of, were the textures. This multicolored skirt became the perfect starting point to base my idea around. For the rest of the outfit, I tried to stick with more neutral colors. I played with a casual look using a mixture of tight and loose clothing for a more relaxed feel on top to balance the tight skirt. The beige top I chose to pair with the skirt matched perfectly with the skirt’s undertones. Finally, to top it off, I added cute brown ankle boots and a leather jacket to add a little flair to the whole look. All in all, I had so much fun creating this look. This inspiration will definitely be something I will try to draw from every day when creating a new look.
