One of the season’s biggest trends that has caught my eye is denim. The use of denim has been a recent trend seen on the spring 2015 runways. More specifically, the Roberto Cavalli ready-to-wear spring 2015 show inspired me to recreate this trend with my version of a denim-on-denim outfit. Throughout the Roberto Cavalli show their use of denim was very casual and matched the bohemian look that they were going for. They incorporated slashed jeans and a whole ensemble of a denim shirt paired with denim shorts. I liked the idea of denim on the top and bottom, and being that it is a particularly hot summer, I decided to create a version of my own.
I chose to wear high-waisted shorts which have a ripped and worn look. I paired my shorts with a graphic T-shirt and a light washed denim button-down shirt. I accessorized with open toed leather booties and a black cross-body bag. Graphic T-shirts are trending this summer, and not only can they have cute sayings, but they are comfortable as well. This graphic T-shirt from Francesca’s is oversized and perfect for the summer weather. My button-down is from Abercrombie & Fitch and my shorts are from a local boutique.
If you wanted to turn this look from day to night and keep the denim trend, pair the button-down and graphic T-shirt which some dark washed skinny jeans. What I love most about this trend is that denim has been around for many decades. Jeans and jean shorts have never really gone out of style, but the way you wear them and what you pair them with can make all the difference!
