Ralph Lauren has become synonymous with American creativity and ingenuity. Polo, it’s cool younger sibling is no exception. The brand has been built on classic styles presented in fresh ways, and the 2015 ready-to-wear collection does just that. The show exudes an inherent timelessness with colors and textures that keep the brand relevant.
As mentioned in a previous post, it’s hard not to notice that the fashion industry had been inundated with ’70s inspiration. Polo is not an exception. Rich suedes and fringe have worked themselves into the collection, yielding a bounty of covetable pieces.
My look is very in line—if I say so myself—with the Ralph Lauren ethos. I appreciate that my boots, jacket and vest epitomize practicality without compromising style. I can take this outfit from shooting clay pigeons with family (this has never happened) to football tailgates (again, highly unlikely) to dinner with friends (now we’re talking). The tweed vest and boots speak to a classic sensibility while the jackets moto silhouette keeps the look on-trend.
I took my color scheme almost directly from the runway, featuring a similar green and variations of brown, tan and white. As the weather gets colder, I might even choose to top my look with a red hat like many of the models do in the show.
The Ralph Lauren girl commands attention in her timeless silhouettes with contemporary features. Her outfits are practical, yet stylish. She is both graceful and powerful. I am excited to take queues from his fashion house to make myself more confident in daily life.
