If there is one color that has been dominating the runways lately, it’s army green. There is something about that classic color that really makes a great outfit. Maybe its because the color reminds so many of the military—powerful and unfailing—which is exactly what this color looks like both on and off the runway. For his ready-to-wear presentation, Marc Jacobs demonstrated just how dominant this color is in fashion. Even Balmain has dubbed his amazing army green adorned models as the “Balmain Army.” I don’t know about you, but I want to enlist in that company as soon as possible.
While I wait on my acceptance letter into the most fashionable army around, I will try to throw some army greens into my wardrobe in order to feel somewhat apart of the group. It’s a color that is to be worn boldly, and no, you will not look like an olive. Try some army green skinnies on for size. They will surprise you with how great they look paired with a simple white T-shirt and black heels.
For my look, I adapted a summer look from Marc Jacobs’ show. A maxi dress is one of the best ways to dress for the summer heat, and cinching your frame at the waist with a detailed silver and turquoise belt is a great idea. To go along with my belt I added two serious statement rings. To complete my outfit, I grabbed my fold-over clutch and a pair of chunky black heels.
If there is anything I learned from studying Marc Jacobs and other designers’ collections this year, it’s that army green is in command and it looks fabulous! Fall in line with this trend as soon as you can!
