What do Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Hailey Baldwin all have in common? Aside from the obvious, a.k.a them being supermodel BFFs that we all lust over, they all have been seen sporting the recently popular athleisure trend. I have been embracing this trend recently because it allows me to wear my favorite pair of leggings and sneakers while remaining effortlessly chic.
It’s no surprise to anyone that living a healthy lifestyle is bigger than ever now. You scroll through Instagram every day and see all of your favorite celebrities and bloggers posting about their cycling or Pilates class. These posts convince us that we should be able to look just as chic as these ladies do while on the run or working out. And don’t you worry, because this is one trend that is definitely attainable!
When recreating this trend, I immediately thought of the adidas by Stella McCartney spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. The collection took workout clothes and made them high fashion; it showcased moveable fabrics in fun colors. For my Stella McCartney-inspired look, I paired my favorite gray leggings with a black and white racerback tank top. To dress up the look just a pinch, I added a fitted leather jacket and a black backpack to make the outfit perfect for class. For accessories, I chose a pair of oversized silver sunglasses and pulled my hair out of my face just in case I decided to hit the gym. And of course, no athleisure look would be complete without a simple pair of Nikes.
I know that everyone does not love this trend, but I for one hope it sticks around for quite a while. So grab your leggings out of storage, throw on a zip-up, slick back that hair and you’ll nail it every time!
