DKNY’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection has to be one of my favorite fashion shows. It celebrated the company’s 25th anniversary. In this runway show, some of the looks that made the brand iconic were revisited. There were parkas, bodysuits and pants covered with the infamous DKNY logo. The color palette was very minimal adding a few pops of pastel colors, prints and denim. There were a lot of menswear-inspired pieces like baggy overalls, white button-ups and dresses accessorized with baseball caps. I love this runway show because it really sums up my aesthetic of dressing. I love streetwear, monochromatic looks with a hint of color and mixing feminine pieces with menswear pieces.
Today, I wanted showcase how I incorporate all these elements into my personal style. I would usually go for all-black and add pops of color through my shoes and accessories. But today, I felt like switching it up by wearing all-white. I started with a white mesh tank top dress. It looks very similar to look 50 in the runway show. I threw on a pair of classic Stan Smith adidas that had a touch of green in them. I kept the accessories minimal and simple by adding a graphic clutch and a bracelet. With this look, I embraced the sporty yet feminine spirit of the spring 2014 show. Even though I had on a dress, it still had sporty elements because of the mesh material and the sneakers, which add sporty elements.
Get My Look: 1. White tank top dress. 2. Stan Smith adidas. 3. White clutch.
