STYLE GURU STYLE: Baby's in Black

All. Black. Everything. One of the latest trends of sporting monochrome clothing can be dressed up or down for any event on a Fashionista’s or Fashionisto’s agenda. The boldness of black gives one the best of both worlds—classic and trendy.

Given recent trends on social media, all black everything definitely adds a certain, “slay” factor to your wardrobe and complete look. The Versace spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection introduced the use of bold dark colors, and how mixing funky patterns won’t always look like a hot mess! The monochrome ensembles, specifically, brought a formal vibe to the use of all black. Where Versace has chosen to dress up with monochrome madness, I have been inspired to dress down.

I have combined the use of the black-out buzz with my everyday, casual style. This edgy look can be worn for any type of casual event or a night out on the town. Mixing different textures, but keeping a consistent black palette allowed me to keep my clothing simple and to spice up my makeup and accessories.

Combining high-waisted jeans with black Dr. Martens, a loose, black T-shirt and a leather jacket, I was able to give my typical grunge look an extra fierce factor. These articles come together creating a look to wear when you want to take a walk on the wild side of casualness. A dark, berry lip helps polish off my look by adding a new tone of color that adds an extra accent to the outfit, as well as some flashy finger candy and of course, my staple Ray-Bans. Throw that hair in a topknot, and you’ve got yourself a look that can kill.

Get My Look: 1. Black, loose T-shirt. 2. Black jeans. 3.  Black boots.
