I’ve never been the kind of girl that loves to wear clothing with eye-catching colors and frilly details. I prefer to stick with my dark, muted colors and edgy details. On that note, one of my favorite collections for spring 2015 ready-to-wear was Givenchy’s dark and sexy masterpiece. Designer Riccardo Tisci strayed from the feminine and boho looks that were featured in most of the spring 2015 collections, and it was incredible and awe-inspiring. Instead, his collection was rife with grommet lacing, thigh-high boots, leather, lace and my favorite color black.
Another reoccurring theme in the collection was a black and white graphic print that was featured on tops, skirts and dresses. I translated this trend with a black and white chevron printed shift dress that I had purchased from Dillard’s. To complete this look, I strapped on my wide strap leather sandals from Zara and threw a black quilted clutch with a leather and chain strap over my shoulder to send this outfit over the edge. Lucky for me, black and white is a huge trend this summer!
Sometimes, it can be hard to translate some of the over the top runway trends into something that you would normally wear, but if you can find just one element that speaks to your style and work around that, you will be good to go!
Get My Look: 1. A simple black and white graphic printed dress. 2. A pair of not-so-traditional sandals. 3. A black clutch with metal details and trims.
