A white T-shirt and blue jeans are a match made in fashion heaven. The combination is so effortless, yet so cool and chic at the same time. All in all, it’s the perfect uniform for summer.
I thought that this uniform was executed in a fun and fresh way in the Off White spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, which featured lots of white and denim—all in edgy silhouettes. The collection was cool, but also conveyed an element of comfort and simplicity, which is something I wanted to translate into my own look.
The colors white and blue were central to this outfit, and I wanted to wear a simple silhouette with features that elevated it from being just a T-shirt. I thought a white eyelet top was perfect for summer. To juxtapose the sweet and girly feel of the blouse, I opted to wear a pair of light wash denim cut-offs. The white and blue combo stayed true to the inspiration from the Off White collection, but I wanted to add my own spin with edgier elements.
To achieve this effect, I selected a pair of strappy, studded black heeled sandals to wear with my outfit. I think that decision took the look from casual to dressier in a rocker sort of way. Accessories can really make the outfit, and take it in a completely different direction. To dress it up even more, I decided to also wear some funky silver rings, along with delicate silver chain earrings. Eyeliner and a brown-hued lipstick were the perfect finishing touches.
