As much as I love writing about other people on campus, I was excited to write my first Style Guru Style post. I took these photos on one of the nicest days this month. It was high 70s, and everyone at school was in a better mood. There were so many people hanging out outside, and I saw a definite difference in people’s wardrobes.
Like I mentioned in my Style Guru Bio, my personal style is not set in stone. It changes from day to day, depending on what I feel like. I feel like I favor more boho looks once it gets warmer out, and this outfit definitely is reflective of that. I am in love with this bell-sleeve top I purchased from Forever 21. I got it back in the fall, but I love that I can style it for spring as well. I’ve been seeing a lot of bell-sleeve tops lately, and I am a huge fan of them. The silhouette is playful and extremely feminine. I styled it with my button-down denim skirt from Target. I consider this skirt a staple in every girl’s closet. On warm days, it’s easy to pair with your newest blouse or simply a T-shirt. I feel like the buttons on the skirt add to the bohemian vibe of the outfit. A regular denim skirt would not give the same effect.
For my shoes, I went with my navy sneakers from Tommy Hilfiger. They are a go-to for me because they go with everything. I could have styled the outfit with boots or sandals, but personally, I prefer sneakers. This made the outfit more personal and fit my aesthetic. For accessories, I layered two necklaces. The first is a simple gold necklace from Nordstrom, and the other has an elephant charm from Piccolo Amore Boutique. I always prefer gold jewelry over silver because it tends to match better with my wardrobe. Here, gold is cohesive to the bohemian look. I also wore my round sunglasses from H&M. Each year, I purchase another pair of on-trend and cheap sunglasses. I love them because they make any outfit fun.
As I end this post, I can for sure say I am excited for spring and summer fashion. I am eager to see which trends emerge on campus as the school year comes to a close, as I have been loving what brands have been putting out recently. I am also excited to see style photos from all the music festivals this summer and their influence on stores.
