Fall is finally in full swing, and I can finally say it’s sweater weather. With the cool air, changing leaves and various flavors of pumpkin spice, October has never felt so right.
Layering is an important and necessary act of fashion when dressing for fall weather in New England. A sweater and jacket combination is my go-to for the season because it provides an effortlessly chic outfit in an instant. I also love the dark and muted colors that take over fall. Yet, I found a way to incorporate white into my fall and winter looks. The Iro fall 2016 ready-to-wear collection was filled with neutrals, classic pieces and contemporary styles.
Taking inspiration from this beautiful collection, I decided to sport distressed jeans and a leather jacket. Iro channels the cool and simple styles of a city Fashionista in their latest collection. As I mentioned earlier, layering is vital to fall fashion, and pairing this asymmetrically-cut sweater with a leather jacket that screams fall. Combining feminine and grunge can sometimes be hard, but keeping the color palette in whites and blacks keeps it classic. I love how timeless a leather jacket can be and adding it to an outfit always makes the outfit better.
Another huge staple of fall is boots. I think that by adding these Chelsea boots to my outfit helped to tie together the distressed jeans and leather jacket. Lastly, I decided to wear my tassel necklace and funky sunglasses as a good way to bring color into my otherwise neutral ensemble. There is nothing wrong with keeping it neutral.
