Couture runway shows are a great inspiration for any Fashionista. While I normally resort to stalking Instagram and fashion blogs to find an outfit for upcoming events, nothing is better than looking at the runways for style influence. They show the latest trends for the upcoming season and push the limits when it comes to what is acceptable to wear. My latest inspiration was from Givenchy’s fall 2016 couture fashion show. From pantsuits to dresses, black and white was the theme throughout. But don’t get me wrong, these outfits were anything but boring.
I had an upcoming wedding and needed to find an outfit that was appropriate yet showed off my style. Look 12 from Givenchy’s show was my biggest inspiration. The model, Kendall Jenner, was wearing a floor length, side slit gown paired with a high-waisted floor length skirt. My favorite part about the outfit was the use of different textures throughout the gown, from sequins to beads to fringe. While I loved the long slit gown paired with a long skirt, for my outfit I settled on a jumpsuit to make it more fitting for the occasion. I wore a black and white bodice colorblock jumpsuit paired with black strappy heels. Kendall’s turquoise and pearl earrings added a nice element of color to the looks, but I decided on a pair of silver diamond hoops instead to fit with the black tie theme of the event.
Kendall Jenner’s makeup was also very simple, with dark eyebrows and a very light pink lip. I used the idea of a soft lipstick, but since it was a nighttime event, I decided to go a little darker with my eye makeup.
