In alice + olivia‘s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show, black and white was a major theme. alice + olivia is a brand I usually gravitate towards because they do a great job of creating clothes that women would actually like to wear. Their style is feminine, edgy, and a little preppy. I believe their pieces are loved by women of many different fashion tastes and lifestyles. One of my favorite trends that has been around for the last season or two is coordinating pieces. alice + olivia’s look two is a perfect example of this because of the matching patterns. Although I do not personally own something like this, I decided to create my own spin on it by focusing on their trend of black and white. Why is black and white so fashion forward? Ask yourself this: when has black and white not been on-trend? Colors of the year come and go, but black and white is forever.
I chose to put together my outfit by starting with my favorite black and white dress. I chose it because not only does it have the trend of black and white, but it also has the feminine element that alice + olivia put into their pieces. I decided to add a bit of interest by adding my leather jacket. It may not be black or white, but it does add a fun pop of color. Of course, if you want to stick more closely to the trend a black leather jacket would work just as well. I am on the shorter side, so whenever I get the opportunity to wear shorts or a dress that show off my legs, I pair the outfit with a nude wedge because it elongates the appearance of my legs.
