While searching for outfit inspiration this weekend, I decided to look at some of the latest fall 2015 ready-to-wear fashion shows. The Jason Wu show was amazing. Filled with amazing monochromatic looks with classic fall colors: black, gray, military green and white along with unique red and camel colored outfits. Even though most of the outfits were composed of classical pieces, all of them had a modern touch. It’s amazing how small details, such as transparency or a belt, can create a completely different feel to the outfit.
Since I was going to have a very busy day, I decided to play with fall colors while still wearing comfortable pieces. I have to admit I love monochromatic looks. There is something so easy but yet so appealing to them that you can’t help but adore it. To me they always make an outfit look chic and classy, even if you are wearing very simple pieces of clothing.
To start building my outfit, I decided to wear black leggings. They are super easy to wear, comfortable and I bet everyone owns at least one pair. To continue along the lines of the colors used in the fashion show, I decided to wear a white blouse. Thankfully it was a beautiful sunny day in Boston and I didn’t have to wear a huge jacket to protect myself from the cold. For my jacket, I chose a navy coat that gave off a biker feel because of the cut. Since I was going to be walking all day, instead of wearing heels, I put on some wedge sneakers. The wedges help elongate the legs and they always add a stylish touch to every look.
When in doubt of what to wear, checking past fashion shows are always a good place to check for inspiration.
