Black is my favorite color for a lot of reasons. It’s simply yet daring, it can be elegant or cutting edge. There is nothing that it can’t match with and it’s bold enough to stand alone. It is not a surprise that the simple black dress appears on the runway every season. One of my favorite looks this year was from the resort 2016 Elizabeth & James collection. The whole collection was filled with simple black and white looks, which I appreciate because I feel it is important to get back to basics. The black and white color palette was also aesthetically appealing and would be great for accessorizing.
A simply black dress can take you almost anywhere. You could wear one to church, to the office, to stroll around the city—even to a nightclub. This is one of the reasons why I am always looking for the perfect simple black dress. They can be styled up or down, which is why every Fashionista needs one in their closet.
On this day I went from a picnic with a group of friend at one of my campus’s gardens to a meeting with a professor seamlessly. This is not a look for only one occasion. This is why the simple black dress has been and will remain my go-to look.
For my look, I wore my favorite simply little black dress with lace embroidery at the top. To go with it, threw on a tan airy mesh cardigan. I accessorized with an elegant gold necklace and my earthy wood earring. Finally, before leaving the house I put on my treasured brown wedge sandals.
