One of my favorite trends of 2016 is the bomber jacket. Due to my recent realization of the importance of a third piece in an outfit, bombers have really become a staple in my wardrobe. While the moto jacket will always have a place in my heart and, of course my closet, I’ve set my sights on the bomber. This trend completely blew up this year and I love it. The bomber can elevate and amplify a simple outfit so effortlessly.
Bomber jackets are my go-to statement piece and the garment I look to when my outfit feels a bit boring. The details incorporated with this trend such as embroidery, patches and patterns are what make it so unique and versatile. These special touches also have the ability to create a sense of individuality in the jacket, meaning they can easily be customized to make a one of a kind piece. I’m obsessed with all of the different finishes and textures added including velvet, metallic, satin and leather. Often, trends go out of style because of the lack of exclusivity, but with bomber jackets the variations are endless.
The bomber in this outfit has intricate floral embroidery on the sides and the back, adding a delicate entity to the sporty silhouette. I let the jacket stand out by pairing it with a plain T-shirt and a leather mini skirt. To complement the sportswear vibe, I threw on my Superstars and called it a day.
