School is back in session and I must admit, I kind of missed it just a little bit. To start off the new semester with a bang, I wanted to have an outfit that would surely make a statement.
The Lanvin spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was perfect for that pop that I was looking for. I loved how the collection incorporated so many different elements but still kept my attention throughout the show. The ones that I took the most inspiration from were the loose flowing fabrics of the first few looks and the metallic gold patterns in looks 46 and 47.
Since the weather here in the Sunshine State is exactly that; full of sunshine, it wasn’t very hard trying to recreate these looks. It was also a huge plus that I happened to have a very similar pair of pants in my own closet. I definitely couldn’t let this pass me. To incorporate the loose fabrics, I decided to go with my trusty sheer, black kimono. This piece has been my go-to for the last few months, and it adds just the perfect touch to any outfit.
Something I’ve learned over the years, and throughout my stages of growth in the style department, is that less is more. Pairing these two items together created a great balance since the bottom is such an eye-catcher. To finish off the look, I added a burgundy purse for a pop of color and kept the shoes simple so that the pants could have the spotlight.
