I used to watch people walk down the street in heels and think, “How are they doing that?” I can now say I have experienced walking in heels on a cobblestone street so that basically means I can do absolutely anything… Right?
Sure, go ahead and laugh but I didn’t buy my first pair of heels until I was 17 years old. By that age, my best friend had been wearing heels for nearly five years and, yes, we are the same age! Even though I got to wear my dream outfit; boyfriend jeans and my metallic block heels, it was nearly below freezing so the variety of holes in my jeans made me wish I listened to my grandparents when they scolded me for wearing “old jeans.” But once it got warmer, I realized I absolutely felt like an actual Fashionista!
I was never one to wear turtlenecks (they made me feel claustrophobic) or one to wear heels, but I braced the cold to try a bold outfit. Since I have a thing for monochromic outfits with accent pieces, I love the way my cream turtleneck and handmade leather tote blended together. Then my brown and cream combo is complemented by my denim boyfriend jeans and rose gold block heels.
Next time when you contemplate changing out of a bold outfit for the sake of comfort, think twice. Keep those heels on, wear those ripped jeans in the winter, and strut your way to class and don’t think twice about it!
