STYLE GURU STYLE: Bringin' Back Bell-Bottoms

With a summer full of music festivals and free-spirited fun, the Zeitgeist oozes ‘70s vibes and the return of the bell-bottom could not have more perfect timing.

After years and years of squeezing into your skinny jeans, finally designer names have given us the go ahead to let loose. For this season, bell-bottoms of all kinds graced the runways of the Diane von Furstenberg resort 2015 collection and the Coach spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection.

Hold the flash tattoos and the hair charms this time because we can’t dress like we’re going to Bonnaroo every day. Sometimes the ‘70s-inspired festival wear needs a more practical approach. Less is more so tone down the patterns and the accessories to give it a cleaner look.

My outfit is pretty simplistic, a Plain Jane idea, like the average tank top and jeans can be made into any Fashionista’s dream by including the totally ‘70s trends, including the ever-so-trendy bell-bottom.

My jeans are bell-bottom with a high-waist, and my top is a cool turtleneck crop top from ASOS. Wedges are necessary to emphasize the flare of the jeans and the oversized sunglasses add to the ‘70s vibe as well as hide the bags under my eyes. Since the color palette is fairly neutral, I added gold accessories to my hands and wrists to express more of my own unique style, and my favorite shade of MAC lipstick in Diva that completes the entire look.

Get My Look: 1. A pair of bell-bottom jeans. 2. Your fave crop top. 3. Oversized, round sunglasses.
