I don’t know about all of you, but my absolute favorite weekend activity is Sunday brunch. I live for those relaxing mornings with the girls, all-dressed up, catching up over endless mimosas and avocado toast. But sometimes the slightly cooler winters of Southern California make our typical brunch dresses a little impractical, so here’s my take on a cozier brunch outfit for weather a little less sunny.
On top, I’m wearing a slouchy ivory sweater from Urban Outfitters with the prettiest cross between a boatneck and a turtleneck. On the bottom is a slightly distressed denim skirt from Topshop with a little cutout in the front. I tie the outfit in with my plain black Steve Madden leather boots using a black leather belt from Urban Outfitters. But by far, my favorite part of the outfit is all the dainty gold jewelry that’s just visible enough to make a statement. The simple chain choker and the ear cuff are from Catbird NYC, and the clasp choker is from Mejuri. All of the other pieces were found at Artists & Fleas from independent vendors.
This outfit is the easiest to recreate because it’s made up of pieces we all have—the basic sweater, denim skirt and leather boots. The key is just to find a sweater in a stark white and a denim skirt that’s just distressed enough to add a bit of personality to the outfit. You could even distress a skirt you already own yourself!
Stay cute and stay warm everyone!
