Is there ever a wrong season to wear capes? I have recently discovered how cute this trend is and basically feel like a superhero business women when wearing one. The key to styling capes can be tricky, but it just takes some layering.
This look of the month is based off of an outfit I wore to work and thought it would be cool to share. It’s in-between business-casual and casual, and makes for a great sleek look to wear anywhere that you want to look a bit more put together.
I started off putting together this look with basic pieces that you can find in any Fashionista/os wardrobe: a tank top and jeans. My jeans have the perfect amount of rip right at the knee so they aren’t too distressed. You could opt out for a fancier tank top or even a body suit if you wanted to create a super sleek tucked in look. I tucked in my tank top to give it a similar effect, which is always an option if you don’t want to drop $30 on a good one. The main center of this outfit is this beautiful navy and white striped cape. From the front it just looks like a regular blazer, but then once a gust of wind comes, or you go to move your arms, there are no sleeves! It’s a very unique piece and I found it at Nordstrom on sale over the summer and would highly recommend any other article of clothing similar to it. As for my shoes, I kept it simple with a cute pair of chunky black heeled boots from H&M. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a navy pair but I would definitely opt out for a pair.
If you happen to catch your eye on one of these numbers, definitely try it out and test your fashion limits!
