Happy NYFW 2015 everyone! I am so excited to see what this season has in store because I was blown away by last season’s NYFW. I especially loved Tommy Hilfiger’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. His reworking of varsity stripes was chic as ever, the colors were luxurious and the carwash pleated skirts really caught my eye.
To my surprise, Tommy Hilfiger wasn’t the only runway show to showcase a love of carwash pleats; they were a huge hit among designers for Fall 2015 ready-to-wear including Christian Dior and Thakoon. I am a big fan as well!
I wanted to show off this fantastic trend in my look. This striped, carwash-pleated mini skirt is such a classic and current trend at the same time. The wide, cream and off-white stripes add a level of sophistication to the skirt, but the length and style make it fun and quirky! I love carwash pleats!
With a cropped denim jacket and an oversized t-shirt (which I knotted for a more feminine silhouette), this is the perfect outfit for going to class or out for a nice dinner during the fall. Funny enough, I decided to wear my Tommy Hilfiger riding boots to really emphasize the season and the style of my look.
To complement my look I wore all gold accessories to match the warm tones in my garments. They add shine, but aren’t overzealous which is exactly what this outfit needed. I can’t wait for more fall temperatures, NYFW runway shows and layered looks. It’s going to be a great season!
