STYLE GURU STYLE: Casual Garden

Spring fashion is all about creating beauty in the things around you. The spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection by Oscar de la Renta did exactly that. Inspired by the outdoors and all things feminine, the collection featured beautiful pastel colors, mesh pieces, feathers and floral print in some of the most nontraditional ways. The garments in this collection represented women as elegant flowers in a chic nontraditional garden.

Floral is a token print of the spring season and being the girly girl that I am, floral always makes its way into my closet. Inspired by Oscar de la Renta’s love for outdoors and femininity, I was determined to find a way to incorporate the style into my own personal casual style. Between hanging out with friends, working, shopping and being an aunt of two beautiful little girls, my life is ultimately consumed by errands.

When running errands, I like to keep my street style simple and on-the-go. Which often translates into a look that is comfortable and sassy, all in one. Heading out to take my nieces for frozen yogurt and to see a movie, I opted for destructed boyfriend jeans, a white satin floral top and gold and brown gladiator sandals. I topped the look off with a flamingo garden bucket hat and a green and gray jacket, creating an outfit inspired by unconventional use of floral in the Oscar de la Renta spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Incorporating florals into a street style look can be difficult. However never fret your Style Guru is here.

Get my look: 1. Floral top. 2. Boyfriend jeans. 3. A RAD bucket hat!
