While looking through the spring 2015 runway shows online recently, one in particular caught my eye. That show was the Ralph Lauren spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection. It had a distinct safari influence, with fitted green cargo pants and safari-like jackets in bright hues. It looked like the most glamorous safari I’d ever seen. If a Kardashian went to Africa, this is what they’d wear. Almost every look had either a pant or top in that army green color paired with a bright accent color. Although the collection had a glamorous feel, it was done in a casual sporty way, keeping true to the Ralph Lauren roots.
Borrowing from the army green trend seen in the collection, I wore a blouse in that same color. I tried to keep it true to my style with a flowing top in the green hue. Under the blouse, I wore a pink bralette to add that pop of color that was so popular on the Ralph Lauren runway. I kept the rest extremely simple, in a black skinny jean with rips in the knees that is so trendy at the moment. I wore a black pair flats in a snakeskin texture to keep the casual sporty feeling of the runway show in my outfit. As for accessories, I wore my usual turquoise ring that I’m never seen without and a dainty gold necklace to keep the casual, yet cool feel.
This trend is a great one to wear now and during the colder months as it is very versatile! Wear a pair of army green shorts now and in a couple of months wear a army green safari style jacket.
