In the last days of summer transitioning into fall, I’ve been really captivated by how much people use denim with anything and everything. Fall 2016 is all about taupe, black and denim attire. All three are timeless, approachable pairs that are must-haves in my wardrobe. Currently, warm taupe is listed as one of the top ten shades of the fall 2016 season according to the Pantone fashion color report released this year.
My biggest idol in the fashion industry also might just share the same thoughts, as she often wears light wash boyfriend jeans and black distress tops with funky styling kicks. I am very inspired by her edgy yet elegant fashion trends. Kendall Jenner is officially bringing back the chic denim trend. While reading an article about Kendall’s L.A. shopping spree in InStyle, I was flooded with inspiration to try out this look.
I started with my extra baggy boyfriend jeans and a black cutoff shoulder top with a taupe tank top underneath. Then, I placed a gold necklace over it. My obsession for shoes has only increased, and of course I had to go all the way out with suede lace-up flats. I finished the look with a bold matte lipstick from color pop. I wore this look all throughout the day around the whole campus and felt very comfortable and chic! What an attention grabber. I must admit that as a college student, my budget is quite low but the reality is that this look was only 35 dollars all together and took two minutes! I am very excited to see many other trends emerge into the fall that include taupe black and denim.
