Madewell is the cross between coveted fashion statement pieces and a classic pair of denim jeans—clearly everything a young Fashionista desires. This easily makes it one of my favorite attainable fashion brands, especially after the launch of the fall 2015 ready-to-wear line. I can see pieces of my basic everyday wardrobe sprinkled throughout this entire collection, so it was a no-brainer to attempt to pull one of these looks out of my closet.
The look I channeled was this combination of a navy striped top, a denim skirt and camel colored boots. As Massachusetts’ weather would have it, I made the choice to flip the striped long sleeve into a chunky knit. I completely ditched the skirt to wear my favorite pair of jeans and grabbed a pair of camel booties. I opted for suede instead of leather as I feel like it added to the effortless vibe and theme Madewell does so well.
I kept the color palette as close as possible (except for my little olive vest—thrown on for an added layer) because I think that’s what makes Madewell stand out from most brands. The ability the brand has to make classic pieces of all hues go so nicely with denim always blows my mind.
For Fashionistas in college, Madewell is more financially attainable than the Yves Saint Laurent bags we crave. However, Madewell isn’t that easy to find unless you live in a bigger metropolitan city—but have no fear, there are plans to open more stores before the year ends. Do I hear our closets screaming yes? I think so!
