I got lost scanning through dozens and dozens of runway shows and found I was most drawn to Chanel’s spring 2015 couture line. This line is bursting with attitude that is reinventing the Chanel name. The show is overflowing with flat sock-booties, bared midriffs and slouchy skirts. Karl Lagerfeld’s theme for the show came to him in his sleep, where he dreamt of a garden inspired by Metropolis, one of Lagerfeld’s favorite films. Â His dream is very present on stage as there are 300 flowers decorating the set, which somewhat inspired my look.
It seemed that every other look in the line had a crop top piece. These were not your typical Coachella, fringy crop tops though. These tops added class to each look, while still staying on trend. I was inspired by this contradiction and threw together a look of my own that screamed “class” as well as “crop!”
So today I wore a black short skort with pleats from Zara. I had nude tights on to keep warm in this not-so-warm spring weather. I wore a black chiffon crop top also from Zara with details of daisies on the entire shirt. The shoulders are lined with ruffles and the back is secured by a tiny button at the top. I wore my black Ralph Lauren boots to finish off the look. Â I wore my hair natural with a slight wave and smacked on some deep marsala lipstick, which is of course is Pantone’s color of the year! I also had my red Barbour raincoat with me to keep me dry, it also added a pop of color that matched my lips!
The spring 2015 show inspired me to stay classy but calm. Â The pieces are all very put together but with a loose, free spirit vibe.
