Always a fan of the ever-stylish brand rag & bone, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to channel their pre-fall 2016 collection into my next look. Casual and cool, this collection reflects trends that I am loving right now.
The collection can be best described as having an everyday and effortless feel. Flowing and loose-fitting pieces contribute to the super wearable nature of the looks. Some of the pieces are sporty, with bomber jackets and uses of neutral color-blocking. There is also a strong focus on the incorporation of denim, which is actually a new thing for rag & bone. Designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville said about their customers, “They were asking for it,” when questioned about the less than typical use of denim within the collection.
When I decided to create a look inspired by this collection, I was instantly drawn to the use of clean white pieces paired with blue and white pinstripes. To keep the theme of casual wear, I decided to pair white ripped jeans with an over-sized, business casual pinstripe dress shirt. I love wearing white all year round (yes, even after Labor Day) because it gives you such a clean and fresh look. I threw on some Converse sneakers to contribute to the casual and sporty feel. Plus, they assure you’ll remain both stylish and comfortable all day long. I also added a bold statement necklace to give the look a bit more detail. And to top it off, I put on my coziest gray sweater, because winter in New Jersey has officially arrived! Pairing this with the striped button-up really helped tie together my look to make it laid back, effortlessly chic and totally rag & bone-inspired.
