STYLE GURU STYLE: Coachella Meets Woodstock

Chloé is not only the name of the coolest Kardashian sister, but it’s also a fashion brand that stole the show last fall when debuting its spring 2015 line. These collections are a perfect mix of beautiful draping and fluidity with a work wear aesthetic hidden in the denim pieces. While the dresses provide liquid-like volume, the denim adds a tailored, structured look. I don’t know about you, but when I look at the Chloé spring 2015 ready-to-wear I start thinking of everything ’70s and hippie. I’m not talking about the bright colored, circle sunglasses and frizzy hair hippie. I’m talking of the earthy, natural and festival hippie. Google Coachella fashion and you’ll instantly see where I’m coming from. Since loose-fitting garments and denim shirts are undoubtedly my go-to in life it makes sense why Chloé was screaming my name…and I listened.

This spring 2015 Chloé fashion is what I practically came out of the womb wearing, so it wasn’t difficult to whip an outfit together. An accessory that was prominent throughout the show were gladiator sandals. I am obsessed with my gladiator sandals, and that’s obsessed with a capital O. They go with everything: denim, destroyed denim, spring dresses and even maxi skirts. You can never go wrong with the color brown, too. Brown is like the new black, it goes with almost everything! Well except black, of course.

The brown from my sandals tie into the brown of my Indiana Jones hat. Even though hats didn’t play a role in the Chloé runway show, that ’70s vibe was still prominent. I decided to show off the denim trend with my new American Apparel denim button-up shirt. The stripes make this garment look like I picked it off a rack at a vintage store in Brooklyn, but unfortunately the price tag and my wallet say otherwise. I do have to say, though, that I don’t regret a single penny that went towards this shirt! It’s a staple investment piece that not only goes with everything but is comfortable as well. Speaking of matching everything, I paired the button-up with more denim. My high-waisted jeans and knit crop top bring the ’70s trend full circle. All that’s missing is my ticket to Woodstock.
