If I were given the choice to choose between sneakers and heels, I’d definitely pick sneakers. Yes, I’m that girl that avoids wearing heels at all costs. Comfort is key and always in mind when I’m planning an outfit. I’ve come to learn that you don’t only have to be in heels in order to look trendy.
As stated before in my first article, I love menswear but sometimes I have my girly moments and this happened to be one of them. The adidas by Stella McCartney spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection included one thing I love more than menswear: floral. The line up included stylish yet comfortable pieces intended for working out. As we all know, Fashionistas rarely follow the rules so while I was going through the collection I was already thinking of different ways to pair some of the pieces with “non-workout” clothes.
From thinking of how to pair the pieces I found myself in front of my closet, trying to recreate an outfit with a sporty edge being that with my college budget with actual pieces from the line were out of the question.
I started with a white crop top that had vertical lines going down, I then added a pastel pink vertically stripped midi skirt. To add the “adidas by Stella McCartney” feel on top of the shirt, I wore a black and white floral bomber jacket. Then to complete the look I wore my black New Balance sneakers.
For my accessories I included a cross necklace with a clear cross choker layered on top, a gold cuff bracelet and a platinum ring with a pink gem. I then sported a black handbag that can hold anything and everything, and finally, a cool pair of black cateye sunglasses.
This outfit proves that you can still be cute and comfortable without the fear of falling flat on your face. I know they say beauty is pain which is true but if you can avoid the pain heck why not!? Do your thing my fellow Fashionistas, in comfort and style!
