The ace&jig spring 2015 collection is my dream wardrobe for this season. It focuses on casual, airy looks that are ideal for the spring and summer. One thing I love most about this collection is the close attention to detail in the textiles that are used. Even though many of the looks feature layers on top of layers, dainty fabrics like cotton and chambray keep each outfit light and comfortable. The use of neutral colors with pops of bright blues and oranges keep the collection very nautical and whimsical.
Something that really stands out to me is how ace&jig always changes colors, shapes and fabrics, but one thing they make sure to do is keep stripes constant in every season. I think it’s important for designers to include some kind of persistent detail that allows their pieces to be recognizable.
Rompers and jumpsuits are prevalent in this collection, and if you read my last post, you know how much I love a good romper. My look was focused around my ivory-colored, lace top, crepe bottomed romper that is finished with a pom-pom trim. It is graceful and super comfortable even on an extremely warm day. As my ode to ace&jig, I paired it with a chambray, long sleeved T-shirt that I tied around my waist. Going through every look, I noticed none of the models wore jewelry. Personally, I feel naked if I don’t have at least some kind of necklace on. So, to make this look my own I included a layered chain necklace and a faux leather wrap bracelet with gold details. This summer, I’ve been obsessing over heeled booties, so that is exactly what I chose to complete this look. They are camel-colored, open toe booties with a zipper detail, which complements my favorite go-to KORS Michael Kors cross-body bag.
Get My Look: 1. Neutral Romper. 2. Chambray shirt. 3. Open toe heeled booties.
