STYLE GURU STYLE: Concert

Here in Virginia we hang onto summer as long as we can. In hopes that the real world won’t catch up, every millennial is pretending school isn’t in session and hitting the last shows of the season at his or her nearby venue. Concerts are fun for an infinite list of reasons but for any Fashionista, one of the best things about a show is dressing for the occasion.

I based this look around a retro girly vibe. I started with my favorite summer find: a satin cheetah print romper from Tobi. This haltered piece of heaven was the best thing I’ve ever stolen from the sale rack; it’s light, comfy and bold if you want it to be (which of course, I do). Underneath is a simple black bralette from Forever 21. To add a bit of color pop, I paired this with my Newbury Lane kate spade new york cross-body bag. This leather purse in Sweetheart Pink is perfect for any spring or summer occasion. To complement the bag, I added a daring matte lip from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade of Party Pink.

The pink alone wasn’t enough for me to give this look what it needed. To add a little spice and give the outfit the glam it deserved, I threw in some metallic accessories. Starting from the bottom, I’m wearing a pair of platform buckled sandals from Target. These golden masterpieces were an end-of-the-summer steal last year and have held their style since. I get complimented every single time I leave the apartment with them on. ’90s glam is back in full force. On my neck is a silver and gold rocker chic statement piece from Forever 21 that added a much needed “something” to the empty V-neck of the romper. For my wrist candy, I’m modeling a Kate Spade New York timepiece that says “Eat Cake For Breakfast” on the face. Last but not least, I’m wearing my rose gold cat-eyed sunglasses to add a finishing touch. These reflective brow-barred aviators are taking online boutiques by storm. In all honesty, I just ordered mine off Amazon for cheap to get the same look for less, which in case you haven’t noticed is a hobby of mine.

To achieve my perfect concert look, I tied striking accent colors to fun prints and glossy accessories. You can go with almost any style you want for a show, but if you want to stick out in that nebular mass of a crowd, be bright, be bold, be you.
