Hola Fashionistas and Fashionistos from the beautiful mountain town of Vielha. This week I am on the Spanish-French border in the Val d’Aran for a little break from all of the heat at the beach. I have enjoyed hikes in the morning and visits to local towns each evening. This area is known for skiing in winter, but I believe that its charm during the summer is just as lovely.
For my trips to surrounding towns, I found inspiration in alice + olivia’s resort 2016 collection. I absolutely loved the sophisticated and structured silhouettes, as well as the dizzyingly amazing patterns and prints that graced each model’s frame. The color scheme was also very interesting to me. The cooler shades of green and black, complemented by a bright and sunny yellow-green look very modern and chic.
For my own outfit, I opted to mimic the color scheme with a bold striped shirt. The boat neck reminded me a bit of the more conservative collars of alice + olivia’s collection. Longer sleeves for summer were also very easy to mimic since the temperatures were much cooler. I tucked my top into a pair of lightly printed linen shorts to emphasize the waist similar to how the models appeared in many of their own looks.
To top everything off, I added a super huge statement necklace in a corresponding color. I may or may not have stolen it from my sister’s closet! The gold gladiators, however, are my own, as well as my RAD bracelet (Thank you, CollegeFashionista!). A white manicure and a turquoise cross-body kept up with the same color scheme of alice + olivia. The resort collection was fabulous and I was so happy that I was able to pull together some pieces from my suitcase (which meant for very limited choices!) that matched the vibe of these amazing creations!
Get My Look: 1. A wild printed shirt. 2. A bold statement necklace. 3. One of Ryan Porter’s lovely little bracelets. 4. A cross-body. 5. Gladiator sandals.
