With summer break upon us, it’s finally time to let down our hair and unwind. With classes finally on hiatus, upcoming vacations, dazzling swimsuits and glowing skin come to the forefront. Quite possibly the best part of summer is the fashion, of course. Summer is the season of flowing silhouettes, bohemian vibes and stylish comfort. J.Crew’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection embodies all of the best aspects of the season. It showcases crisp denim, boxy fits and pops of color. J.Crew exemplified summer cool and showed us that every stylish lady deserves a fabulous casual look.
To channel the looks presented by J.Crew, I brought out my favorite warm weather staple item—culottes. These pants are essential for any girl on the go. Disguised with the flow and femininity of a skirt, culottes can be dressed down with a funky pair of sneakers or dressed up with flirty heels for a night on the town. For my look, I kept them casual and let them steal the show with their bold animal print. To balance this bold pattern, I paired the pants with my favorite neutral, denim. The light denim crop top is one of my favorites of my vast cropped collection and provides my spin on J.Crew’s inventive use of the material. With these two staple pieces, I wanted accessories that really shine. Large gold woven hoops are the perfect complement to the gold accents on my black sandals. Big hoops always make me feel sassy and ready to take on the world. For a finishing touch, I wore tortoise shell cat-eye sunglasses to keep those sun rays at bay.
J.Crew’s spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection inspired me to jump into my favorite summer trends. With culottes, denim and classic shades, I am ready to take a break from the beautiful Happy Valley and visit a sunny beach until the fall.
