Gabriela Hearst’s collection in the resort 2016 runway show was a success. Hearst is typically known for her luxe style clothing. In this collection, she chose many neutral and dark colors such as navy blue, beige, white, military green, gray and black. This array of colors kept the collection very classic and simple. Such classic styles were translated into jumpsuits, patterned dresses, tall boots and long fur vests. I wanted to try to channel one of her looks into my own style, so I chose look number 28. I was really drawn to the white sweater tank top. It is a common misconception that bulky sweater material is only meant for the winter, but using this material for a tank top breaks all the rules.
I decided to go for it. I selected one of my favorite sweater tank tops that I owned and paired it with fun, floral and gray high-waisted shorts. When wearing a solid color top, it looks good to have patterned pants on the bottom to make the outfit stand out. For my accessories, I chose a bohemian style. I paired several different necklaces of different lengths and colors to create a free-spirited ensemble. When doing this, it looks best to pair many dainty necklaces with one chunky necklace and a very long necklace as the central piece to these accessories, as I have demonstrated. I chose a gold, beaded bracelet and silver and turquoise rings to complement the necklaces. To finish off the look, I put on brown combat boots with gray socks to bring out the gray accents in my outfit.
