I’m somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to certain fashion trends. As an avid reader of everything fashion, I see trends often. However, some of them take a little longer for me to warm up to. Culottes happens to be one of those trends. I see them everywhere, but all it took for me to love them was a beautiful, shining pair of pale pink culottes on a rack at Buffalo Exchange. I’m making this sound like a love story because it is. Fittingly, I want to show you Theory’s ready-to-wear spring 2016 collection. This collection was so beautiful and simple, and the colors are vibrant. One thing I absolutely love about Theory is how streamlined everything is and how the looks always feel fresh while still staying true to the brand aesthetic.
I translated this runway trend into something more casual to fit my style. I don’t dress up often as I’m usually just running errands or in class, so I wanted to find a way to make these professional looking pants wearable. I paired it with crocodile-printed Topshop sandals to fit the hot days here in Arizona, and to dress it down a little for going to class. I’ve been trying to incorporate more patterns into my style lately, so I paired these pants with a printed top to spice it up a little bit. Finally, I added a gold necklace to pull it all together.
Get My Look: 1. Crocodile sandals. 2. Culottes. 3. A minimal gold necklace.
