Denim has always been a fan favorite. Everybody loves denim, and it loves us back. Whether you’re rocking the classic jean jacket or an old pair of high-waisted mom jeans, denim seems to never fade—out of style that is!
I looked to the Chloé spring 2015 ready-to-wear fashion show for some inspiration. Her looks required a mix of dressing up the denim outfit while also allowing it to easily be a day-to-day look. In addition, the denim dress definitely made its debut in this collection. My outfit was definitely rooted within all the button-down denim dresses displayed in this line by Chloé.
Switching it up a little from the show, I used light wash denim rather than darker, and I incorporated short sleeves into my look. Denim can get slightly heavy, so finding ways to keep cool is essential, especially in the summer months. I also wanted the outfit to look lighter overall.
The whole concept of denim is such a classic, and it will never get old. What I love the most about denim is how versatile it is. You can dress it down or dress it up, just like I did.
My outfit, consistent with the runway show, included a button-down denim shirt that I bought in a larger size. That way, I could wear it as a dress. To give it a little edge, I added my favorite, white snakeskin pumps. Since the look is so simple, just a few accent pieces of jewelry, such as cute studs and a watch, were necessary.
