Those ’70s high-waisted Levi Brand Jean’s shorts are in style this summer. These loose cut, high-waisted, boyfriend jean shorts have been the new hip thing that young adults and college age students are obsessing over. I became obsessed with this baggy jeans look when watching The spring 2015 ready-to-wear Stella Ishii’s 6397 runway show. The entire show was made up around the simple style of a loose shirt or dress over a different wash of jeans. Each look was thought through and draped to perfection. Every model for this show was made to look effortless and chic at the same time. This look is timeless. Stella Ishii’s approach on the 6397 runway show touched upon many things. The looks were effortless, masculine and “City-Chic.” This show was not out of the norm for Ishii’s 6397, but the runway show brought a whole different approach to this “cool” denim style.
My denim style is replicated from this runway show by wearing a loose boyfriend fit striped shirt with my vintage Levi Brand Jean’ shorts. This outfit was not paired with flats as in the runway show, but instead paired with a perfect pair of cool, summertime brown leather boots. For my accessories, I tried to stay simple—as if I was walking in the runway show. I layered three of my gold necklaces of all different lengths. One of these was a simple gold chain, one a necklace with the Libra birthstone and one a silhouette of the Chicago skyline. When it came to rings, it was very hard for me to tone down the accessories. I wore five rings: one was a silver mid-ring designed to look like a snake slithering up my finger and the others were everyday silver rings with two of them having a touch of turquoise and a touch of dark blue. These rings will always go with any outfit I put on! My purse is a black bag with three gold zippers on it from Urban Outfitters (because well, I am on a college budget). I topped off this casual city look with Harper Round black rimmed sunglasses for those bright summer days.
