STYLE GURU STYLE: Don't Be Afraid of Color

February is one of my favorite months because you can feel winter slowly going away. Spring is still a month away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate fun colors into your wardrobe! Pastels are perfect for the winter when paired with darker colors. Some of my favorite pastels right now are lilac and pink. Another one of my favorite things right now are are over-the-knee boots.

The winter weather in Ohio could go from a blizzard one day to 60 degrees and sunny the next. It’s important to have versatile layering options in your closet. I have plenty of sweaters that I can wear with coats, vests, or just on their own. One of my favorite light sweaters right now is this lilac one from Urban Outfitters, which has great lounge sweaters that are soft and comfortable. Urban Outfitters is, unfortunately, sold out of the one I’m wearing, but here’s another great sweater option.

These burgundy over-the-knee boots by Vince Camuto have been one of my favorite items this winter. They’re suede and can be laced up in the back. I love them because of the rich color that can basically be worn with anything. I was a little concerned I would have trouble pairing clothing with this red, but it’s easier than you would think. Such a dark color like this can easily be worn as a neutral. I wore them with my lilac sweater because I think they’re a great compliment to a pastel color.  Here’s a pair of boots similar to mine with a heel by Kendall + Kylie.

Lastly, I grabbed my favorite pastel sunglasses to throw on during the day with my outfit. I love wearing colorful sunglasses. I think they’re a great way to add some extra detail to your outfit. Here’s a fun pair from Kendall + Kylie.

I’m counting down the days until spring! Until next time, Fashionistas!
