With spring 2016 headed our way, designers and fashion houses are already looking ahead towards fall of 2016. Although the spring fashion weeks have yet to begin, many designers are offering a look into the fall 2016 collections they will be showing at fashion week this spring.
As Fashionistas we are all eager to get a look at what’s to come. These designer previews allow for us to get a head start on incorporating trends into our looks. What excites me most about these previews are the colors, especially in the alice + olivia collection. I am drawn to the jewel colored tones and I’m obsessed with the combination of a either a skirt or dress and thigh-high boot.
This look is a based off one of the alice + olivia looks from the runway that features the dress and high boot combo. And, you can clearly see my obsession with this combination in my outfit here. I don’t yet own any thigh-high boots so here I’ve got on a pair of over-the-knee boots, but because the dress goes down to the knee you still get the same effect.
The height of the boot also has to do with my personal style. Even though this look is based off one from the runway the pieces are from my closet so they reflect my style. And when it comes to picking boots I know that boots with little to no heel is better for me when walking to and from class. The color scheme goes along with that as well. I am more drawn to neutral colors hence the gray on gray. I much prefer to add color in through the accessories. So here I chose a jewel tone blanket scarf to bring in some color.
As long as you get the overall concept of the look, you can choose the items that work best for you to get the look you are going for.
Get My Look: 1. Either thigh-high or over-the-knee boots. 2. A jewel toned scarf. 3. AÂ simple dress.
