The 2015 ready-to-wear spring collection by Mary Katrantzou made me feel at one with both the fashion world and the world we live in. Inspired by prehistoric times, the collection featured many earth-inspired elements. With windblown hair and minimal makeup, the models strutted down the runway in slip dresses, lace skirts and flowy tops in ocean blues, forest greens and snow whites. Floral and python prints also made an appearance on the catwalk in desert-inspired beige tones. From land to sky to sea, this collection was inspired by earth and the results were out of this world.
Inspired by the runway and the world around me, I opted for a floral romper in neutral tones. Rompers are a great alternative to sundresses, allowing more freedom to move about while still offering a flirty, feminine vibe. The muted nude and pink colors also add a romantic touch, making it the perfect choice for a summertime date. I added a beige cardigan for a lot of texture and a little warmth, inspired by the nude colored coats on the runway. I completed my look with a brown leather handbag and a pair of brown wedge sandals. Wedges are a great complement to short rompers and dresses, lengthening and slimming the legs while offering a fun, flirty touch to any outfit.
Next time you are looking for fashion inspiration, take a look at the world around you. Whether the land, the sky or the sea, the mountains or the desert inspires you, Mary Katrantzou’s spring collection has something for everyone.
