Mixing feminine, floral pieces with edgier accessories makes for an interesting and fun outfit. I love to mix styles. Embracing bold patterns can create an original look that is always in style.
Taking inspiration from the Trina Turk pre-fall 2016 collection, I put together this look. There are many bright and sunny pieces in Turk’s collection but there are also some edgier styles. My favorite edgy look in the collection is a sleeveless black pant jumpsuit. On the opposition, my favorite feminine look is a solid yellow dress paired with a floral scarf. To incorporate the two different styles into one for my look, I wore a flower print romper with black lace-up sandals and a pair of black aviator sunglasses. For accessories, I kept it simple with a pair of white, Kendra Scott earrings.
By mixing this flirty romper with a few edgy accessories, I achieved the exact look I was going for: floral meets edge. Creating a perfect balance of masculine and feminine influences. You can’t be afraid to mix different styles to create a unique look of your own. You could mix a lace crop top, a maxi skirt and some gladiator sandals. The main thing to keep in mind is to just wear whatever makes you happy. If you like preppy styles but also prefer the aesthetic of grunge, don’t be afraid to mix the two! Innovation is what has made fashion evolve, combining new patterns and colors bring life to our wardrobes every season. You could even come up with the next big trend.
