Summer is rising upon us, boho babes! The season of the sun comes with barefoot wandering, sun-kissed skin and less stress because we have a couple months to be exam free. Summer always welcomes us with a free-spirited attitude and encourages rest and relaxation after the busy spring semester. With this season’s new feel, we are given the chance to reinvent our wardrobe and evolve previous looks. I came across Veronica Etro’s resort 2017 collection, which showcased her father’s classic bohemian feel originating from 1968 but with more of a modern spin on the sewing machine this time around using simple lines and distinct edging amidst the patterns.
Etro is my own Style Guru when it comes to the bohemian looks that I admire so much. I love the play on materials, patterns and colors that are incorporated throughout the seasons. My summer go-to look incorporates free-flowing pieces, a brighter palette of color saturation, fringe and tassels and undoubtedly some unique fabric designs! I fell in love upon discovering this collection at the end of May, just in time for my fellow bohemians to thrive! The entire collection flawlessly executes the ever-popular boho vibe that summer pairs perfectly with.
Etro’s collection inspired me to combine embroidery and patterns and to focus on the details along with the classics. The kimono, which inspired the focus for my entire outfit, is a compilation of different designs and tassels, giving an edgy feel and making the entire outfit really unique and tasteful. The belt I’m sporting here was a thrifted treasure: suede and lined with gold complementing my beaded layered necklaces over my high-collar tank top. My feet were happy to be walking in the comfort of my Birkenstock-inspired shoes! Birkenstock-inspired means without the price tag…talk about a college student’s dream. I wore an embroidered scrunchie around my wrist to accessorize, and that is my little play on pattern mixing. My legs were enjoying this pair of hip hugging dark wash bell bottom jeans. Etro’s 2017 Resort collection fueled my bohemian inspiration for this outfit, so I encourage you all to experiment with mixing different patterns this season!
