Kent, Ohio: home of crazy weather including tornadoes and blizzards in mid-March. With everyone and their mother basking in the hot Florida sun over spring break, it has made me really want warm weather ASAP! I’m done with heavy knit sweaters and bulky winter boots. It’s time to break out your favorite dresses, jean skirts, and enjoy the outdoors.
The best things in life are on the sale and that is exactly where I found this awesome dress. For this look, I was inspired by the ’70s and went with a floral dress and strappy sandals. Clothing from previous decades are always coming back into style, so make sure your mom still has her retro jean jacket in the back of her closet.
This look includes an off-the-shoulder floral shift dress, tan strappy sandals with a block heel, and a gray tie choker to complement the dress. The off-the-shoulder shirts and dresses have started to become all the rage in stores and magazines everywhere, and are my favorite style of clothing to wear. Some can be straight across or cinched like in this dress.
The choker is a fun way to accessorize without having to put a lot of effort into your look. This one specifically is a faux-suede material and can be tied in any which way to create the perfect necklace for whatever look you’re going for.
Whether you’re kicking it downtown for the day or going out to brunch, this is perfect for any casual, low-key day with your pals!
