With designers all over the world launching their fall 2015 collections, it’s hard not to unleash our blackest blacks, coziest sweaters and most worn-in jeans from the back of our closets. But even though September may have arrived, the cooler weather certainly hasn’t—at least not here in New York City. Still, the Versace fall 2015 couture collection left me in awe—the breezy dresses, the flower crowns (they’re not just for Coachella) and the soft colors were amazing. I found inspiration from the collection while still using pieces from my much needed summer wardrobe.
I built my entire outfit around my airy maxi skirt. I was inspired by the bohemian vibes of Versace. It’s my go-to piece when I want to look dressed up and still feel totally comfortable. While the skirt makes me feel like a woodland fairy (and who doesn’t want to feel like a fairy?), I decided to pair it with this lightweight graphic muscle tank top that is perfect for keeping me cool in the 90 degree heat and keeping the outfit relaxed for everyday wear. And while some of the amazing Versace outfits themselves are full of sparkle, I opted for some simple jewelry instead to add a bit of shine. I added some simple bangles (I’m always proud to wear my sorority letters wherever I go) and a gold chain necklace. I kept the shoes neutral with casual sandals to keep the focus on the skirt. Since I always have to have a pop of color in my outfit, I added a raspberry colored lipstick, the perfect summer to fall transition shade.
