With pumpkin spice lattes, football and fur (faux, of course) taking over campus, it has become evident that fall is in fact here. This being my final fall semester as a college student, I have come to realize that this time of year practically ends before I can appreciate its unique trends. In honor of the season, I deciphered my favorite fall 2015 Ready-To-Wear collection that debuted last February.
Alexander McQueen’s combination of deep and pastel colors with vibrant textures inspired me to create this look. Paying mind to the high-necked black silhouettes, usually hitting at the ankle, I chose a chic black jumpsuit as my base, adding a vintage estate-ring to emulate McQueen’s Victorian vibes. Like McQueen’s collection, I paired my jumpsuit with black booties. Although the booties used by McQueen were solid black, I chose booties with studded embroidery to carry through the edgy details in this ready-to-wear collection.
The collection featured fur frequently throughout, however, the fur was mostly black in color. Since McQueen chose to feature blush sporadically in his show (and because I absolutely adore the color), I chose to add a blush-colored faux fur vest to top off my look. My look is mostly based off look two, because this is the look that I continually drooled and studied over. It is classic, feminine and wonderfully contrasted. Although I chose not to wear my hair in a tangled birds nest fashion, I did wear it up because the focus should be on the statement piece, the fur vest.
Wearing purple lipstick brought out the colors and style felt in this feminine and detailed grouping. I chose to wear a soft-spoken watch (mostly because I feel naked without one), a long simple necklace and a comfortable bag to carry through the gold featured in the paired shoes.
Get My Look: 1. Chic black jumpsuit. 2. Fur vest. 3. Sassy booties. 4. Feminine watch. 5. Comfortable bag.
