STYLE GURU STYLE: Fashion Flashback

Well hello again Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Can you believe it is finally the end of summer? This is such a bittersweet end, but I know that fall is going to be just as fun and fashionable. Nobody can resist frolicking through an apple orchard in a nice cape coat or pair of leather boots.

Today’s outfit is full of a lot of fashion flashbacks and I absolutely love it. I don’t know why, but I was really feeling this sporty-chic thing and I’m a sucker for normcore fashion so I couldn’t resist.

I noticed last year on a lot of runways that designers were leaning towards mixing sneakers with chicer looks to create fun contrast. Acne Studios did their own version of this by using shoes that looked sort of like hiking boots-meet-Dr. Martens in their pre-fall 2015 show.

Since this has been a trend for a while and I was lusting over these Stan Smith Adidas sneakers, I decided to treat myself and I have been having so much fun styling them. The green is honestly such a great look.

Another piece that I had been dying to wear was this cream colored silk shirt with fringe that I dug out from my mother’s closet. This shirt is from decades ago (talk about vintage) and looks like it’s straight from Donna’s wardrobe on That ’70s Show.

Over this fabulous shirt, I decided to throw on this subtly zebra printed motorcycle jacket. I’m going to come clean and say that this also was from my mother’s closet that I stole from her. I’m beginning to think she’s more fashionable than I am.

To finish off the look, I went with a staple pair of cuffed blue jeans because I can’t resist a good cuff. This outfit makes me feel like I can do anything and I can’t decide if I should be a heroine in an old Western film or Sloane in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (you know, because of that iconic white fringe jacket of hers that everyone lusts over).

Get My Look: 1. Motorcycle jacket. 2. Fringe detailed shirt. 3. Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.
